My first Smartphone Journey:
We were at the Bangalore International Airport to sendoff my sister to London, who is going for an on-sight assignment for a duration of 5 months. My eyes were about to fill with tears when she entered into Airport.
My sister is s software professional, working in Bangalore and my mother and father were residing in Bangalore along with her. Myself and My husband were staying just 10 km away from my parent’s house. Before leaving she said, “Soon get one Smartphone, so that I can catch you when I think of you. Even I can have video call with mom and dad.” I replied “Thinking, but I don’t know when it will happen. Okay, and then have a safe journey. Do make a call after you land there”. My husband who is just 10 feet from us was observing our conversation. There was an announcement for my sister, and she said bye and left us.
Three days later, my sister called to husband mobile and said that she reached safely. She said everything seemed new. New people, new environment and so on. She talked to me for while and said she would call later. After a while my husband greeted me “Happy Birthday Dear”. I was so surprised that I had forgotten my birthday and even more surprised to see my husband remembered my birthday.
I thanked him for his greeting and remembrance. When he was about to leave office he said “Evening I have one surprise for you."
I couldn't wait till evening and was very curious to know the surprise, so I called him in the afternoon and asked him about the surprise. He said “It is suspense”. I often checked the clock and door for my husband’s arrival. In the evening he came with a gift pack and said ”This is my birthday gift to you”. On seeing the parcel, I asked “Is it a jewel.” He said, "No"
When I opened the parcel I happened to see a gift pack that contained
He said “It has not been activated as of now. I will do it tomorrow and teach you everything about the mobile.”
Next day morning, he said, "Now you can chat with your friends, even you can video chat with your sister, do online shopping, do banking, and moreover you can have cooking recipes at your hand. For the past 2 days I had enquired and read the review of MotoE. It has Quad-core processor and so the processing speed will be superior, it has 4.5" qHD display, front camera, good battery strength, and above all it is so economical that it fits to our budget. So I thought that Moto E will be an apt mobile for you” he said.
I called my sister and informed about Moto E. I shared my happiness with her. She replied, “Wow, No problem moving forward. Whenever I feel homesick, I can call you”.
I called my mom and said about the new Moto E. While talking she said, “Our Tommy is not eating anything. Even it is not drinking water. Tears come from its eyes often. It is not active and became so dull that we don’t know what to do.” I replied “Mom, I will come in the evening to see Tommy. You don’t worry”
Tommy is our pet dog. It’s about 10 years back when Tommy came to our house. It was the day of 10th public examination result. My sister was nervous as well as eager to know the result. So she was getting ready to school to know the result. She touched the new puppy and went to the school. When she returned she said she scored 92% in the examination and felt sentimentally that it was due to the arrival of the new puppy. We named it Tommy. From then she use to say “Good morning” as she as she gets up and it will respond by giving shake hand. She gets biscuits for him while returning from school. It became one among our family member. Whenever my sister happened to travel in bus, Tommy goes along with her till bus stop. It wait till she boards the bus and then return back to our house. If ever my dad scolds my sister, Tommy barks at my dad. When she is late from her office, Tommy used to sit and wait at the gate expecting her arrival. It will never go to sleep without saying “Good Night” to my sister. It becomes so much affectionate with her that it never spent a single day without her.
In the evening when I met Tommy it didn't even notice me, as it was tired of fasting. The moment I saw Tommy, I understood that it was searching for the presence of my sister. Immediately an idea struck my mind and I called my sister. I asked her to have video chat; I took my mobile near to Tommy and showed my sister's face. The moment it heard my sister's voice, it started to howl and hum with affectionate tone.She started communicating with Tommy and Tommy was so happy, that it was difficult to express in words. It started turning to normal life. From then on I used to go every evening and will show my sister face to Tommy. Though we talk to my sister in London, it gives greater happiness when we see Tommy talking to her.
If ever my husband have presented me jewel on my birthday it would have not given happiness. Now we are waiting for my sister’s arrival.
