The most beautiful gift in the world

My dad’s journey and his role toward his vision of making me the head of department of a university was agitated with hard work, sweat, strong-willed determination and persistence. He trained me to remember and follow only one slogan as soon as I wake up. "Be Determine to be productive today".  No doubt, his experience had shaped me better.

I look back on those early years and remember his sacrifice that made me to excel in my career today. At the start of my career I was supposed to give a presentation to a group of 1000 people on the topic “thin-film”. It was an excellent opportunity that anyone would receive at the initial stage of the career. I was very nervous to face a crowd of thousands, hence my dad accompanied me. On seeing my nervousness, my dad understood what’s running in my mind.
He said, “You may not have all the answers or cover all of the planned material. You may not receive positive and complete attention from all the audience. But if you are passionate about what you are presenting and saying, the audience will remember that passion for a long time before they remember the words you are conveying.”

Those words went deep into my mind and I portrayed my presentation with sheer passion. He stayed with me throughout my presentation and cheered like a true devotee. If I reminisce those days as a young teenager, lot of emotions bubbles up to the surface of my throat and leaves me speechless.

If I am being successful today, I will admit that it’s because of my dad’s love for me that got me here.
This achievement, however pleasing, does not come without the struggle of my dad. I am so glad that my dad has prepared me for it. I am so grateful to my dad. I am married now and staying with my husband and kids. I visit my father’s home once in every month. The space he occupied in my heart, push me further to new boundaries and new possibilities. I hear his voice inside my heart that advises me during the tough times.
What could I favor him in return? I know, none of our dads will love expensive gifts or money. Their happiness is their kids. On this father’s day, I have one expensive gift that would make our dad to cloud with happiness.

Hug Your Dad and say how much he means to you. I am sure, that’s the most beautiful and expensive gift in the world.

Dance the best medicine

My grandmother was not completely cured, when the hospital doctors informed that she can be discharged today. She was still very sick and weak. The hospital staff arranged the ambulance to transport my mother back to home. I was extremely disappointed and was developing negative feelings on the medical science, since medicine and doctors could not cure my grandmother.  If it cannot cure a person, then what is the use of hospitals and medicines?
On the other hand, I did forget that my grandmother is becoming old. Birth and death are natural and one has to admit that. The doctor said that my grandmother can survive only for a month. I took her to the balcony and offered the coffee. She is a die-hard fan of coffee. She enjoyed every sip of it and gave the cup back to me with a smile on her wrinkled face.
A thought crossed my mind. Instead of cribbing about her health, I decided to fulfill all her wish in this one month. I do not have any magical power to change her fate, but I had the power to keep her happy till.
“Mom (I address her by that way), do you have any unfulfilled wish?" I asked my grandmother with an unease tone.
As serious as she could be, she said, "Are you planning to fulfil my death bed wish"
Tears rolled down to my cheeks.  She smiled and looked at me. I did not have courage to look at her back, hence I left the place.

In the Evening, while watching TV, there came Allu Arjun song. My grandmother, who was sleeping on the bed, took effort to come to living room and watched the song. She also added that she likes Allu Arjun a lot and his dance is effortless and full of energy. I sensed a content in her face after watching his songs.
The next day morning, I saw in newspaper that Allu Arjun and Anushka Manchanda are coming to a mall for ABCD2 promotion. I know my grandmother likes Allu Arjun dance, hence I took her to the promotions.
As soon as I shared my plan of taking her to the promotion of ABDC2, where Allu Arjun is coming for the promo, I could sense an excitement in her eyes. She eagerly got ready for the promo. We reached the mall early and to our surprise both Allu Arjun and Anushka Manchanda were on time. The entire crowd cheered them and welcomed with roar. On observing the crowd, my mother also got excited and roared along with the crowd. The day was spent with full fun masti. Dance, singing made the environment brighter and brighter. My grandmother thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. Even after reaching home, my grandmother was excited to the core.

The next day, I had a checkup for my grandmother and took her to the hospital. The doctor was so surprised that her BP level and health was normal. When I shared the incident that we went for promo and she did slight dance over there and was cheerful throughout the function, the doctor advised to continue to do that in possible ways to keep her lively and healthy.

Dance and Song brings positive Change

“I am blogging for #MaxFreshMove activity atBlogAdda.com. Are you?

Every Single mother on the earth could relate to the below incident I am writing about.
“Sanju, it’s already 7. Wake up. You will miss the school van,”
“Mom.. 5 minutes..”
“Sanju its 7.10. If you don’t wake up in now, I will seriously complain to your class teacher”
No reply from my son and he refuses to wake up. I get angry, then the day starts with scolding’s and tension. This is the usual routine of my daily morning (or any working women) during a working day.
Being an elders, we love to snooze our clock and sleep for some more time. They are kids don’t they love to snooze and sleep for some more time.
Today it started in the same way. My son declined to get ready to the school. After battle and struggle he got up, but he was not ready to bath by himself. I was also in tension to get ready to office. His school van had already arrived and it was waiting in front of my house. All of a sudden while packing his dairy I found that there was a home work that was not completed. I got angry for not informing that he had a home work to do.
My son was still stubborn to get ready.  I informed the driver to leave and planned to drop him in the school. I was already upset as I need to put permission for my work.
I scolded my son for not waking up and getting ready. Without listening to my words, he started playing with the new electronic car that his dad newly gifted him. I could not control my anger and gave him a pound. He started crying and I made him to get ready and dropped in school.
Till that time, my anger was at the peak. As soon as I dropped my son, I felt bad for the morning mess and beating my son. Even in my office, I could not concentrate on my work completely. Evening I thought of asking sorry and explaining him not to repeat those things in a lovely tone.
But a big surprise was waiting for me. As soon as my son came back from my school, he removed his shoes and kept in the shoe rack properly. He kept his bag in the study table and took the tiffin box and dropped in the sink. He kept dancing, took towel by himself and went for bath. After bathing, he started doing homework. He also promised, he will get up early and get ready by himself tomorrow.
I could not believe and asked for the reason for his positive change. He said, Allu Arjun and Anushka Manchanda has come to his school and gave a performance. I could feel from my son voice that they had a good time with singing and dancing. My son was so energetic and he said, they will come to the school for the next one week, and that’s the reason he was interested to go to the school tomorrow. That’s is when I realized a dance and songs could do wonders.
